What Customers Say About Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks (Dark Silver):

I bought this mouse to go with my new Dell 10.1 Inspiron Mini. I freed this one from its plastic prison, popped in the included battery (using the directions I saw in the video review on this site), and popped the USB dongle into the notebook. I will admit to choosing this model for the adorable Candy Stripe color, which looks adorable with my purple notebook. I didn't need anything fancy, just something I could use right out of the package. The computer recognized the new device instantly, and I was off and running. I doubt I will install the additional software, as the mouse already does everything I need it to, and I don't want to waste the hard drive space.

I have a shoe box full of mice-they all "work"-just not real well. Great battery life,& only 1 AA needed. This one does, and at a better price than most of the others. Good response. Bought the first V220 at least 2 years ago, no problems. We now have 3 of these and 4 computers. I need 1 more-my wife keeps stealing mine.

There's really no reason to customize the mouse's functions since the lack of extra buttons prevent much choice. I was using it on a smooth surface, but it wasn't glass. The mouse kept losing signal and response between my laptop. So, I like the ergonomics of this mouse.Overall, it's an excellent mouse. If it had more buttons, then it may be truly worth the retail price. The power and reset switch, battery cover eject button, and the snap-in receiver all add value to the mouse.Comfort-wise, I prefer small mice, but I think I have kind of small hands.

Apparently it works on almost any surfaces except smooth shiny ones. I was wrong. So if your workspace is glossy or such, it'll perform badly. However, once I got a mouse pad (I don't like using them) it performs splendidly. A little after when I first bought the mouse elsewhere for less than 1/3 the price (on sale), I was frustrated. Well, it's worth the price, but it's not exactly "bang for your buck." I think most mouses are overpriced. Try to buy it on sale, but if you can't, the mouse will perform really well for your needs.

I find the optional software for the mouse unnecessary. Most likely your OS will enable horizontal scrolling automatically. Very responsive, well-made, very long lasting battery. I expected the mouse to work on almost any surface besides glass (that's what I expect laser mouses to achieve). If you want a battery level indicator, there's one built in by way of a light indicator (awesome feature.

I'm now using with my desktop on a faux-wooden surface and it also performs exceptionally. But is it worth the retail price. green=good, PULSATING red=low), making the software even more unnecessary. Do buy.

We just inserted the included AA battery, connected the USB receiver, and let Windows (Vista) recognize the new mouse. The Logitech V220 Cordless Optical Mouse is well made and comfortable. We bought three of these mice in different colors so everyone in the house knows which one is theirs. The mouse comes with minimal documentation and no drivers to install. The mouse options in Control Panel can be used to customize the mouse settings.Ergonomically the mouse feels good in our medium sized hands. The USB receiver is fairly large and sticks out the side of the laptop about 1.5", so if this is an issue for you I recommend Logitech V550 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (910-000695) which has a "Nano" USB connector. This is a fairly inexpensive mouse that works very well. Recommended.

My V220 is getting a little worn, but I fully expect it to outlast my pitiful Acer laptop, probably by years. My only complaint is that the USB thingy that plugs into the computer is not flush with the rest of the bottom of the mouse when the mouse is not plugged in.

For starters, it absolutely sips power. I think I've changed the battery only twice since getting it.

I have had this mouse for over a year and a half, dropped it dozens of times onto concrete, and have generally been amazed at its performance. The design is pleasing aesthetically and exceedingly functional.

Ironically, the somehow calming red pulse that indicates a low battery began to blink as I began this review. However, if past experience is any guide, I will get a couple more weeks of heavy use out of it before I have to switch out the battery.

The scroll wheel is sturdy, reliable and satisfying, and the mouse's speed is just right. Overall, like many Logitech products, this is a little hardworking gem.
